Thanksgiving Team 2013
The week of Thanksgiving, we hosted a team of fifteen in our home. The team was affectionately named the “Thanksgiving Team”. They came to work and work they did! They made it possible for a double wedding to take place in our garden, just after their arrival. They spent two days painting at various locations. Throughout the week, we visited many of the families we minister to. One of the team members, an RN, also gave a talk to the ladies about parenting. On Thanksgiving Day, they extended their generosity to the Lady’s and Children’s Bible Study with a special event that included lunch, bounce houses, a pool of balls, a huge clown piñata full of candies and cakes decorated with colorful clowns. Before the day’s activities were brought to an end, the team gave each of the women a gift-bag full of goodies, along with coffee and sugar, and each child was given a backpack full of school supplies. They had collected and brought down diapers for the babies, umbrellas and cooking utensils for the ladies and lots of fun stuff for the kids. Everyone was blessed! After a full day of fun and laughter, we sat down to our Thanksgiving dinner a couple of the team members had been preparing. We gave thanks to God for our many blessings. It was a Thanksgiving Day we will never forget.
